Events Assistant Internship << APPLY NOW

Do you have the creative powers and attention to detail to turn a Halloween event into a fun and meaningful environmental film screening for our audience? We use the power of films to inform and engage people on the most pressing environmental issues. Year-round, we produce film screenings that give audiences an insight into topics from the California drought to the Amazon rainforest.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone to stamp their mark on our events.

Position Description: Assist in all aspects of our planned Fall and Winter film screenings and fundraising events. This may include tasks such as: communications about the event; identifying in-kind donations; identifying community partners to take part in the event; on-the-day event setup.

Requirements:

  • A desire to create seamless, fun, and green events.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with fluency in English.
  • Good computer skills with experience in MS Word and Excel.
  • Ability to work independently and as a team member.
  • Great organization, attention to detail, and multi-tasking skills.

Development & Sponsor Outreach Assistant Position << APPLY NOW!

Are you interested in connecting with the leading environmental companies in the Bay Area? So are we! Our film screenings and events would not be possible without the sponsors and in-kind donations from the local business community. Help us grow our pool of sponsors through identifying new opportunities and building long-standing relationships.

This is an excellent position for someone who’s interested in getting to know Bay Area green companies.

Position Description: This position will assist our sponsor outreach and development plans, reaching out to various green companies around the Bay Area and inviting them to become involved with the festival as a sponsor or in-kind donor. This may include tasks such as: research for the sponsor kit; identifying potential sponsors; data management and developing our pitch.

Requirements:

  • An interest in green issues and in business and/or non-profit development.
  • Confident to represent the festival in this role.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with fluency in English.
  • Good computer skills with experience in MS Word and Excel.
  • Ability to work independently and as a team member.
  • Great organization, attention to detail, and multi-tasking skills.

Schedule:

We expect a minimum of 8 – 16 hours per week (one to two days per week) for at least 10 weeks. We can be flexible with the commitment if necessary. You will be based in our office, at the Ninth Street Independent Film Center near San Francisco’s Civic Center.

  • This is a unique opportunity to experience working for a small, fast-paced non-profit that is focused on the power of film and environmental action.
  • Working directly with the CEO or COO, this will be a learning experience including mentoring and training support.
  • Course credit (where applicable), related majors may include Film/Media Production or Studies, Communications, Business or Arts Administration, Environmental Sciences.
  • The opportunity to attend Festival screenings and events and to meet visiting filmmakers and guests.
