Another chance to see our inspirational 2012 Festival opening night film, THE ISLAND PRESIDENT. Jon Shenk’s beautifully shot documentary follows the globe-trotting journey of Mohamed Nasheed, former president – he was forced to resign on February 7, 2012 – of the Maldives, the lowest-lying country in the world. After becoming the Maldives’ first freely elected leader in 30 years, takes up the fight to keep it from disappearing under the sea.
More chances to watch on the big screen: Samuel Goldwyn Films will release the film theatrically in San Francisco on March 30 at the Landmark Theatres Embarcadero Center Cinema.
