Sept 6 SF Green Film Festival at Walmart eCommerce

This September, SFGFF is partnering with Walmart eCommerce to present the Festival at the Walmart eCommerce corporate campus in San Bruno. The pilot event on September 6 will explore the theme of urban farming and employees will enjoy an afternoon of film screenings, discussions with local experts, opportunities to sample locally grown produce, and a chance to interact with community groups.

“We are thrilled to embark on this new partnership with Walmart eCommerce’s Green Team. We see it as an extraordinary opportunity to bring the energy and ideas of the Festival to employees of their Bay Area corporate HQ.” says Rachel Caplan, the Festival’s Executive Director. “If we’re going to be successful as a movement, we need to get all sectors of society involved and we welcome Walmart eCommerce’s invitation to engage their employees in a conversation about the growing movement in this country around urban agriculture. The entertaining and educational program that we’ve organized for this inaugural event will provide tangible encouragement and support to Walmart employees to get involved in the local urban farming revolution.”

“One of our green team’s primary goals is to get everyone on campus talking about why sustainability is such an exciting opportunity – both for individual associates and for Walmart as a whole.” says Anna Smalley of the Walmart eCommerce Green Team. “To do that, we couldn’t think of a better way than working with the SFGFF to show films that truly have an impact, helping audiences feel connected to environmental issues and inspiring them to get engaged. More generally, we think bringing festivals like the SFGFF to corporate campuses is a great opportunity to get inspiring films in front of a broader audience, start conversations, and get ideas flowing on ways to integrate sustainability into everyone’s professional lives.”
